Ace's Live Music

Dear Loyal Patrons and Music Lovers:
Ace's Live has temporarily closed! It has permanently closed "The Barn" at it's current location. The building and land has been sold to another company and it will no longer be used as a music venue, restaurant or bar. The Ace's Live team has been in negotiations to relocate the bar, restaurant and music venue to a new location in the Bradenton area. We had hoped that the relocation deal would have been completed by the time of the land sale. However, more time is needed. Upon re-opening, Ace's Live will continue to be the leader in live music with a full liquor bar and kitchen, hosting the very best in national bands on a regular basis, along with great local talent. Please check back to this website and our Facebook page for further details on our future location. Thank you again to all of you for your tremendous support over the past 15 years and we'll see you soon!

Kettle of Fish

$5 Cover

Kettle of Fish plays festiblues, the kind of festival music that features blues, soul and funk with the energy of rock n roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics. Kettle is one of the hottest live acts in Southwest Florida, headlining to thousands, and opening for such acts as Eddie Money, Marshall Tucker, Elvin Bishop, Dickey Betts (three times, and called the band “intimidating”) and many more playing mostly originals and some deep track covers.

Kettle has been led by singer and principal songwriter Dana Lawrence since its inception in 2001. Current members include Greg Poulos on guitar (formerly with the Freddie King Band, the Venturas, Rock Bottom), Chris Guertin on bass (Big Kahuna Band) and Rick Andre on drums (has toured with the Platters, Ben E King, Chuck Berry). Other honorary members include the rising star Kevin Miller on guitar, Garrett Dawson on drums/percussion, Andy Wallace or Matthew Frost on keys (when available), Jimmie Fadden (nitty Gritty Dirt Band) on drums and harmonicas and other friends of the road.

Special events have included headlining the GABBA Festival at the great Cox Capital Theater in Macon, Georgia, headlining the Myakka River Blues Fest, Wanee Fest in Live Oak, Sarasota Blues Fest, Venice Blues Fest, Suncoast Blues Fest, Gulfcoast Rhythm & Ribfest, Bradenton Blues Fest and numerous regional festivals. Kettle recently won the 2016 Herald Readers’ Poll for Favorite Band, was showcased in the “Ticket” cover story “Big Shots of the 941″ as one of the top bands in the area and has won various awards and accolades as the #1 or best band of the area.
